Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my 2.5" hard drive. Somethings happened and it's name has changed to "SAMCUNG HJ1&0JC". Now I want to bring it back. I tried many things but i failed. Can I renew firmware? May be resolve this name problem. Depend on this problem, Samsung disk utility programs did not work. So i thought i have to change disk name to "SAMSUNG HM160JC". May this will work. Where can i download the firmware files? Or what can I do else?
Thanks for your help....

There is not a problem with your hard drive, I think the problem is with the connection. Is this an internal or external HDD?

Do not mess about with the firmware.
Sounds like a bad connection somewhere, either between the PCB and the PC or on the PCB itself.

Hi again,
This is an External hard drive, it's Lacie. So i take it out from case and plug it in to my laptop. I tried again, but program could not see SAMSUNG, it's recognize SAMCUNG :S ??. Only one program find the correct name and model, which is Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool 2.36 b1181. Now i am trying to format drive with this tools (over USB connection, externally). I thing it will finish Low level formatting. But, i will i do after that to use my HDD again?

If your 'tools' don't work, drive needs to be serviced but it's not worth the cost. P.s. Samsung does not release fw. , in any case I can fix either Rom or Sa if possible.
