Disk-not-formatted error.

November 22nd, 2008, 0:26

Hi people.

I've got a Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 80gb ATA133 which came up with the classic disk-not-formatted error. The stuff's important so I'm hoping this is a one-go thing. What should I do to pull the stuff off the drive like PhotoRec or DD or something?

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Make an image first, then use some software like rstudio on the image.

Fit the disk as a secondary disk in your machine, or place in a USB 3.5" enclosure and run DR software on it such as R-Studio or GetDataBack, and save your important data off.
