Hi TheBeginner how are you ?,
I would like to ask you one thing: If we rebuild the translator of the hard disk we do not loose the files on it ?

DiamondMAx Plus 8, Quantum Plus AS, Maxtors 540-4k and 740-6L ?, because this models are a mistery to us.

If you rebuild the translator with read of G-List and P-List no.
But for the begin is necessary to make a backup to service module. You never know when you will have need of this!

If you rebuild the translator table your data should still be there. It depend upon what process you use to rebuild....
Super Format rebuilds translator table but also erases the user data... So be careful

But I heard that when you rewrite the QT-AS moudle, or clear the p-list,g-list, the data will be lost!!! How can I solve it ?

I know the problem reason that some of them due to Hdd heads, When I exchange the heads. Some of them can be read and writen.
