another 7200.11 dead, help requested

December 29th, 2008, 13:27

2 months old 500Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 hd died due to the infamous LED CC/busy state firmware issue. The drive spins up, but there's no bios recognition.

I read a lot of posts here and on other forums and now I know it needs a professional and expensive hardware/software complex to fix it.

I'm looking for a skilled DR/PRO who's able to fix it. Feel free to send me a PM.

I'm located in Italy.

Thank you.

I wonder what type of failures Seagate has planned for 2009.

I soon will be proud owner of a brand-spanking new replacement 7200.11 . Rumor has it Seagate updated firmware to get failure rate under control. How would unsuspecting end user know which is what? Based on experience these drives are useless (to me). On the other hand several older gen STs are humming along just fine after years of abuse.

If I just knew what to ask for.......
