I'm in need of help. I have 10 maxtor N40p which need repair. I have PC3000 but I can't repair these drives. Please could somebody post or email me a solution to this problem. A detailed description would be very helpful.

Did you read manual? Try what? And what happend?

I have indeed read the manual. If you let me know how you repair these drives, I can then see what I'm doing wrong. If you don't want to share your knowledge to everybody, then you can PM me.

If you need data recovery from these drives you can send them to a PRO recovery company. If not just RMA them!

I tried to help [PM] and asked what version PC3000 you using.
If you tell me the v1.07, v1.20 ..... and so on it can help to see where you are at and maybe help you on this one and its all for free !

I replied to your PM Mfast. Something must have gone wrong. I am using V.12. I have identical drives to load the firmware but still no luck. I think I am doing the procedures in the wrong order or something? Tell me what you know I may be able to give you advice on other hdd recovery techniques. Thank you.

v12 is version of pc3000 itself, but all utils have it's own number.
To load loader:
1. you must have loader compartable with you drive
2. current util can't work with drive, that have bads in SA
