Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

This HDD was used in a portable media player. The device was moved from a horizontal to vertical position. At this point there was a brief jitter by the drives. After this the drive did not want to spin up again and makes a small rhythmic sound. It is almost like the heads got bent and is keeping the discs from spinning.
Can anyone give me some advise to solve this?
Thanks

Yes, replace it if data is not important. Otherwise seek pro advice. Nothing you can do (seems internal mechanical problem)

won't be able to solve this on your own.

Working on one of these now. Definitely not something you want to even think about doing yourself.
