Best tool to scan HDD after crashed/BSOD/improper shutdown?

March 19th, 2009, 5:48

Hi gurus,

How do you scan a HDD after "crashed / BSOD / improper shutdown" to check the integrity (cross linked folder/file, index) or fix any error caused by those?

Apart from chkdsk. Any better way?
What is the correct/safest way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

You can set some parameter on the OS to make internal FS check safer. Otherwise you can use third party tools, assuming you won't start from that drive.
