Opinion on H.D.R.C. Platter Exchange Tools

March 26th, 2009, 23:40

We ordered a set of the H.D.R.C. Platter Exchange tools. They were rather primitively constructed and poorly documented.

Although they advertise exchange tools for Maxtor drives, none of them would fit a 300 GB model. Ditto for a Hitachi 2.5" tool that we tried today. Granted, we haven't tried them all, but 0/2 is not encouraging.

Their customer support is really dismal - almost non-existent.

If anyone is interested in the set, I can make them a good deal . . . . :x

thank you for the info,
i was looking at them and deciding but after getting the head exchange tools decided that i would not spend any money on the other tools as truthfully the quality of the tools supplied was in my opinion below average.

I got a set of HDRC platters tools for sale too.

One careful owner, never used.

The dust on them is included in the deal.

Well, to be fair the head combs aren't too bad, with a little refinement they're actually OK. Use mine every day.

But the platter tools... I'd be more confident with a pair of boxing gloves on.

On sale now to the highest sucker/bidder.

Good to know i will not buy it :D

And what say´s HDRC support , they are here in the forum i think ....

They make tools for DR companys or for Home users try it at home :?: and good bless the drive :o

I have also a set off head combs , and i notice some weeks ago that where with problem, when i reply them the support they ask for a picture and they send-me back.... when i ask what they have send-me no reply afther this .... so i have the "package" stoped at the CUSTOM, for about two weeks.

will wait for see, if still not working will buy the same product but from the USA, it looks more professional and more expensive.
