Expert advice shuts your brain down ...

Here's an interesting study conducted by a professor from my alma mater:

Although the topic was financial advice, it stands to reason that it might apply to hard drive repair advice as well.

Most probably related to accept someone as an expert.

Perhaps Dmitry should accept new members reading the forum only for a specific
period. Then the new members could recognise the pros here and - if still in need
of an advice after that period - will accept their statements / advice ....

At least it would work as a filter.

If the information at registering to this forum would be read, a lot of questions
would not be asked. Perhaps some days waiting are enough - and again after
informing the new members about this - they should be transferred to the posts
with basic information.
