How to format a disk after LLF

March 30th, 2009, 8:47

I think this is a typical newbie question: how I can format my WD 3200 BEV external UDB disk (NTFS, 298GB) after Low Level Format (LLF)? I use Windows XP and cannot find WD device in "My Computer" menu after LLF.

Thanks in advance.

You need to go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk management (Local)

You should then see the raw drive in there.

Initialise it and create a partition.

You will then be able to format it normally.
