And there you have it, it is not a seagate as it has OEM firmware, so the fix will not work on OEM drives - only Seagate. So you will need to send it to a pro (+data) or return it to OEM for replacement (-data)

I'm not sure where you get that. Most of the hard drives out there are sold through OEM, but still maintain their original manufacturer's firmware. Why would Dell want to modify the firmware on a hard drive for their systems? I think that pretty much all the Seagate drives I've fixed with this firmware issue were OEM.
