Problems with maxtor DiamondMax 21 500gb

April 12th, 2009, 19:22

A chip on my pcb fried and I bought a replacement board from a guy in china, but the new board did not have the rom flashed. I tried to remove the rom chip from my old board, but I melted two of the legs completely off. Do I still have a chance at fixing this drive or should I just dump and effort of trying to fix it?

Try again different way or you'll have same result. Or go to a pro.
