ATMR 60GB - Corrupeted NVRAM

April 14th, 2009, 14:35

Hi to all hddgurus,

I am doing some research in the ATMR disk with the BSY problem.

So i pick a good disk working and edit the NVRAM and corrupted it, them write there something and save it.
The disk now it stays BSY forever i can not enter in the UDMA utility normal mode or safe mode always BSY.
I know the problem is the NVRAM but how can i pass the BSY problem and write there the NV-RAM that i have made backup before.

Thanks
ZeBong

Yes i have that option i am just waiting for my eprom machine arrive :)

Simple:
With another working pcb + UDMA.
You can use the PCB as programmer, if you read the manual, and use the shorting methode. ;)

Hi Janos,
I try the shorting methode for this family ATMR did not work, could not pass to the ROM and them programmer the nvram.

Anyway, you can try to hotswap the rom only. :D
Use one soic-clip, or a simple DIP holder and wire out the 8 pin to another one...

Additionally, if the rom chip matches, you can use another model pcb wich can stand up with shorts. ;)
