IBM Hard drives from servers.

April 17th, 2009, 11:07

I recently got a few drives out of a failing server. Since my work upgraded the server to new equipment they were going to scrap the server. I thought I could take the drives out of the hotswap tray and use em in my home PC. So I took one of the drives a 250GB sata drive and plugged it into my PC. It recognized right away in Vista, but would not show up in my active devices in my computer. It shows up in device manager and everything. Would there be a reason for this? I was hoping to throw it into a enclosure for my PS3.

Okay well I formatted it and nothing changed. Still shows up in device manager but not in my HD list. I will try to figure out MHDD and see if that works. Keep in mind, I am a rookie when it comes to this stuff :D
