First of all, the Media Fire client is TOTALLY OBNOXIOUS! Better to just attach a sound file to your post.

I would think the next step would be to disassemble the iPod and inspect the tiny hard drive for circuit board damage.

You can also buy a cheap adapter from Hong Kong on eBay that will let you hook the drive up to a regular PC.

I've tried to upload mp3 or wave files to the topic but the client says to me that's not supported.

I've disassembled ipod, ispected the PCB but nothing appear broken or toasted. Also I've used a Saratoga de-oxidize to clean from water residual...

Also connected to the adapter the noise is the same...

I don't want to disassemble the HDD, first because now I haven't torx T3 screwdriver, and so 'cause I haven't the knowledge

If someone can help me... if not, friends like before.

cheers

Even if you had a torx T3 you won't see and get anything interesting opening the drive. It's a cheap IPOD, forget it. Or continue experimenting, at your risk and having in mind that you could NOT have the desired results.
