Dears,
I am looking for donor drive for : WD800BEVS-00LAT0 (head stack replacement) with no results.
As far as I know donor should have:
Same model and firmware: WD8000BEVS-00LAT0
and DCM code (last 4 digits) DCM: HOTJBBB so JBBB.
I heard that DCM no matters sometimes and the firmware could match only third and fourth digits so --LA--
It would wider my searchings.
Do you have any experience with this model?
I would be very appreciated for any help.
Regards,
Rafael

1) What head's map ? There is could be differents map with three heads. You need find donor with same map.
2) For the WD Aqarius family, head's replacement operation not too hard. Donor must have HOTJBBB (word T in DCM) .
Best choice for donor its WD1200BEVS-??LAT0 with 4 heads and T-word in DCM.
Good luck.

RDM,
thank you very much.
BTW, I have also the drive:
WD5000AAKS-00YGA0
DCM: DHRNHT2AHB
Could you be so kind and help me to recognize the head replacement compatibilty, too.
Best regards,
Rafael

Even if you find right donor for this royal-model it will not help you (becouse, all donors heads will not passed seek-test in the process of initialization). You should be able turn on/turn off heads in drives memory dirrectly, for recovery client's data.

Hi,
Thank you for information.
Could you describe with more details 'the turn on/turn off heads in drives memory dirrectly', please?
I have never dealt with the 'royal model' yet.
Regards,
Rafael
