Hello everyone. I am in dire need of a PCB for a Hitachi Travelstar 82.3GB hdd. I one of the pins is borken on the connector and i need to retrieve the data.
The info on the Infineon Chip is as follows. I am am assuming this info has to match exactly? is that right?
0A30164
UAB-M3057-HT
v3.3
FRKRS1
i have another one of these HDD's but the PCB info says
0A30153
UAB-M3057-HT
V3.3pf-rom
FR KR S1
I tried replacing this but i got nothing. Am i doing something wrong?
Please help!
Thank you in advance!

It will be a lot easier to jury-rig the pin.

As drccsc says, if you can't fix the pin permanently, repair the broken pin temporarily and get the data off to transfer to a new drive,
Swapping PCB on these drives needs an exact match PCB, same ROM firmware and also need to transfer the content of EEPROM (NVRAM) to the new PCB. It won't work otherwise...

I agree ,
swapping pcb is much more complex then joining the pin back .
