Hello,
I need help, I'm using Seagate 120GB PATA hard disk.
When I connect the hard disk to the Mainboard, the CPU cannot turn ON.
I already try with other pc.
I need to recover the data.
What is the root cause of the hard disk failure?
Can i just change the PCB?

I think you have a short circuit in your hdd pcb. Check if there's any burnt mark.

Disagree!
Plese don't suggest anything when you don't know what you are saying!
In this mode, the pcb swap is not enough.

Hi ,
I just give the first suggestion, as i know as per best of my knowledge ,and the user is the best judge after replace the pcb to get the data back or not... and to replace the proper pcb with proper donor drive selection there is no harm as, we all do at our first step..

Hi friend ,
The root cause is crap power supply, but to solve your problem, you have to replace your pcb first with proper model no./firmware or good to find same part no..
and after replace the pcb may be you can get the data back .please let me know or send the problem after replacing the pcb .we all are with you to retrieve your data back.

Withyou..
As N.C. said,
Please don't suggest anything when you don't know the hell about it. With one wrong move, and the rest of the drive can easily be friend.
To Zack,
In this seagate model, a simple PCB swap very unlikely to work. You should rather check the continuity at the TVS diode, and remove the bridging.
