Seagate ST9160821A

June 2nd, 2009, 13:17

Hi,
I have a Seagate drive STA9160821A. When I scan it with MHDD, it shows no bad sectors or even any sectrs with low speed. When I try to erase it, it stops at 28MB and does not move any further. When I try to format it under Windows, it would not format (shows "The did not format succesfully" or something like that). When it is attempting to format the drive the light on the controller is on and in about about 5 secnds goes off and never comes back unless I disconnect and reconnect the drive. The drive is recognized in Bios. Any ideas?
Thanks
