Change Manufacturer Serial Number

Hi all,
I study the archos market in France ... and i need to obtain some technicals informations ( about you :mrgreen: ) :
Is it possible to change only the Manufacturer Seria Number from a HDD ?
Is it Simply ? Hardware are expansive ?

Thanks a lot for your help ..
We got no inforlmation in Frnace about product like that.

It is certainly doable. How difficult it is depends on the model of drive. Ultimately this is the kind of information that should not get out in the public domain if we want to continue to be able to do it.

Archos use Hitachi HDD ...
I was thinking that we got only a additional PCI card with a HDD slot to read/write the firmware ... I was wrong ...

If someone got some informations, :roll:

Yes, you was wrong. It's not a mere additional PCI card. It was more then that.
