head compatability for WD 3000

Hi All
i have a drive 300GB WD WD3000BB-OOKEAO september 2005 with DCM DSBHCAJCH with a faulty head.

i have a donor drive 320GB model no WD3200BB-22KEAO December 2005 DCM code is DSBHCAJCA

will this be suitaable as a donor dates are very close, DCM codes mathc on 5 and 6th letters and same family.

Any experience or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Maybe you can wait for the next version off udma, we can read the DATA in the other Heads.

Or you can ask suppor to make it read what do you have maybe you can sucess :D

WD require the MHA alignment, keep this i mind, before open it!

I have read of the issues with head alignment and so have not opened drive but I guess a head swap would require this to happen
is there any informationyou can share about alignment some pointers wouldbe great as to what to look for
