Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I have a Western Digital hard drive that has stopped working. I "think" it's the PCB that's fried.
The drive won't spin up, just sits there - no signs of life at all.
I'm considering swapping out the PCB to see if that helps. Question is - WHERE does one go to find PCB's for WD drives???????
Thanks for any advise!

Unlike older WD models, you can't just swap out PCBs on these models because critical specific information is contained on a chip. Contents of ROM chip- or the chip itself- must be transferred to new PCB.

Actually the ROM info is stored within the main chip on these drives.
