Unlike most other drives, Toshiba drives have almost all their unique and adaptive data (incuding s/n etc) on the PCB.

If you cannot buy knowledge because it's not for sale, you can always buy a solution for your problem. Can't say more than this.

I see.We are talking about a lot of money.Fine,if somebody wants to join knowledge to study this drives,to unlock them ,you are welcome.I think the solution goes to study the marvell micro that stay in PCB ,and try to unlock them with the master password.Does somebody know where is the serial or password in the mechanical parts?Is it in a particular sector?Thanks.

I think what the guys are trying to say is if you don't have the knowledge then you are very likely to mess up your drive if you open/try to fix it by yourself.
Basically you need tools which you probably won't have to program the PCB. I would send it to an expert.
Cheers, Matt

@biopuerto,
the wheel doesn't need to be reinvented. If you want your drive data, the answer is yes, if your idea is to get info for free then the answer is no.
