Hi ,
Increasing retries refers to :
m0,6,2,2,2,0,0,22 , but confirm from a recovery pro here before use , using the option 2 for read and write retries .
and do not use the command m0,1,1,0,0,0,0,22 it is mentioned in some other forums as a remedy to translator command failure .
Cheers,
Nitin

hi guys
went through several more atemps and it is showing that it is most lieky an isse with bad sectors in SA as pointed out by HZZ SPAZ.
as the drive was dropped i am wondering if it is a scratch on the platters or possibly a fault with heads,
have you come accross this before, if it is bad blocks in SA can anything be done to work around issue ?
thx for all replies

after you perform the procedure to regen translator does the hard drive LBA appear correctly before powering down?
See if you can access data without powering the disk down after you run the commands.

I assume from the post that you have some problem with defect table. Can you view PLIST or Slip list with 'V' command?
