Hi to all again!
I have two question about Drivelock (or whatever you call it), which allows to protect hard disks with a password: I have a Toshiba Tecra S1, and this feature is not settable from the BIOS, but it should be using an utility, which is not installed in the computer (with the recovery CD), nor you can download it
I posted the problem here
http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Tecr ... 55283#M643However, I used a program I found some times ago to set the password, ATA disk password utility 1.1, but, as I wrote there, it doesn't work well: if I try to set a normal password (cazzo1980), it doesn't work, when I boot the notebook it always says wrong password
The only password that works is a blank password (you just press Enter!!!)
Anybody knows what's wrong with it?
Then, I have a question about security: if I connect the hard disk externally with an USB box when the password is set, the hard disk is not present in the computer resources; I wondered, the data are however not encrypted, so could one however access the data using for example electronic scan? (That one should be interested in the data, eh!)
Actually, with my displeasure, I read that such a tool
