ST3120023A PCB help -

October 16th, 2009, 12:41

I have a
Seagate ST3120023A tha will not spin up
PN: 9w4001-301
Firmware 3.33

I could not find an exact match on the PCB for this drive but I do have
Seagate ST3120023A
PN: 9w4001-001
Firmware 3.30

I put this PCB on the bad drive and it spins up - but I can't get a PC to recognize the drive...

Can I fix the power interruption on the bad PCB?

Is there anything I can do to the working PCB to make it compatible with the drive?

There was a western digiatal in the same computer - same symptoms - I repaced the PCB on it with an exact match and everything worked like a charm....

Anyway - does anybody have any suggestions?

Does anybody know where I can find an exact PCB match for this drive?

Thanks for the help

1-you must transfer the ROM on the bad PCB to the matched PCB, you have to post a photo of your original PCB to let us show you the correct IC to transfer

2-If the data is very important then you have to send it to a pro
