Which module(s) I have to replace with a good one(s) in order to get my Maxtor 4D040H2 running properly its SMART self-tests?

You need to look at the modules using PC3000. If the bad modules are not critical you can re-write them with known good ones.

Hm, 4D040H2 it's ROMULOS?
If you have wrong selfscan script - you must change selfscan script ( see you manual

) Really, to make any advice we must know what happen.
Don't have too many ROMULOS, but usually they don't give much trouble...

Hmm... What we can have?
1. smart fail because smart modules not readable - replace not readable modules
2. smart fail because smart modules have bad contents - clear smart
3. smart fail because drive have bads or head bad - repair bads, or cut heads or throw drive to the bin
As i think we have situation Num 2, so my answer -> clear smart...

Hi vi,
I'm talking about smart self test routine(s), not smart attributes!
I know how to clear smart attributes...
If you use Powermax to check the drive it starts first a self-test routine. For this drive it is not possible. I tried also MHDD/SMART Test/ 0,1,2 - all fail.
