Hello,

i really don't know what to do!!!
right away after i finished to install windows i discoverd the mistake!
there is a way to restore evertying?
some details:
the old version that was installed on the HD was XP Pro and the current is XP Home editon.
the HD hat two partitions C and D, now there is only C.

Put a different hard drive, install OS. Image your formatted hard drive to another drive. Then connect imaged drive to the OS and run some logical file recovery software!!! You should be able to get some if not all.

Agree. Image this drive do now work on this hdd. Then you can use RStudio or another program to search the image you have made. This should get back most of your data on here.

RStudio will do this one for you there is also a number of other imaging software out on the market. RStudio also has another software called R-Image. Check this one out might help you to image this drive after image Rstudio can do recovery on your files.
