I have a seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB drive. The drive can be detected by the system and shows healthy. When trying to access the drive, throws 'Error performing inpage operation'
is this a firmware issue?

More like bad sectors.. The drive may be timing out or staying busy during a read operation.
If it has important data, talk to a local data recovery company.
