Do not work on this drive
Clone it to another drive using another system
You might have to clone backwards on this one or you can try with Winhex on this
Then with a DR program such as RStudios or even winhex start to scan this drive
You have deleted the beginning of your drive now with the format and might have to do raw recovery to get back your data off this drive then rename your files.
Good luck

Image your data-loss drive to the same or bigger size hard drive!
Get another hard drive to install the OS!
Put your original data-loss drive away.
Connect your duplicate hard drive as a slave.
run any of the commercially available logical data recovery software and you should have your data back in a few hours to a half-day depend on how big your drive is.
Get Data Back as a key word on Google for the logical recovery tools!
Good Luck!!!
