Bad PCB on 40 GB Travelstar

November 24th, 2009, 19:56

I have a 40 gig IBM Travelstar IC25N040ATCS04 with a bad PCB. I know that the NVRAM is specific to each drive and I will have to remove the chip from the bad PCB onto a good one. My question is what else (besides the model number) do I have to match on the donor PCB to have a good match.

There is no NVRAM on this model
You have to match ROM revision and size

Thanks Doomer - am having a tough time finding a matching PCB. Once I get it will I also need the donor drive and hotswap or just switch out PCBs?

What is the spec on your PCB? Post photos!!! We may have the match in our lab...
