Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello All.. Quick question:
I have a Seagate ST380021a (80 gig, ATA, Firmware 3.10) that died on me some time back. I kept the drive in hopes of ressurecting it at some point in time. It doesn't have any "must have" info on it, but it does contain several thousand MP3 files that I'd love to get back if possible.
When the drive is hooked up to a computer, it makes that ugly "click click click click" sound on powerup, goes silent for a minute, and repeats the clicking, then seemingly powers itself down. I've already purchased a replacement circuit board for it from Ebay and tried that but it just does the same thing.
I've reached the limit of what I know to try to do short of chunking it in the trash at this point, was curious if anyone has any suggestions on anything that I might try to even temporarily bring this thing to life.
Thanks,
Richard

Sounds like bad heads; nothing you can do yourself, sorry.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do anymore.
Start looking for data recovery pro who is willing to do it for cheap.

dont continue to push the drive, you keep pushing and you will eventually cause a more severe issue than you already have.. i agree with the 2 above me, seek professional help.
