I have some problems about my hdd. I used to have windows vista but when I reached a 50 gb of usage it slowed down. now I use windows xp sp3 but still it is too slow. When I try to install something it writes too slow. I checked the speed with a program but can't understand anything. have you got any clue.

When I wasn't able to install the windows and saw a blue screen, I had changed the bios settings from AHIC mode to compatibilty mode. So I could install the windows şn compatibilty mode. But it is slower than ever. I tried to change into AHIC mode but when openning I see a blue screen at the beginning. What can I do? Is this a phsycal or a logical problem? Should I change my hard drive?

i would suggest replacing this disk. in my experience many toshiba drives go bad extremely fast once they begin to have bad sectors or getting simply slow (guessing weak heads).
