Maxtor 2F04L0

Hy all , does any one know the way to know for model, without open to know the model of the head for a Maxtor 2F04L0 i have one wich its making knock sounds, so i try first to load the ldr file in safe mode from another donnor but when begin to load the firmware modules begin to make knock sound, so i try to found another donnor,
the damaged its this
Maxtor 2F04L0710613 KFGA B2FFA 40GB so i search another and found the same model same firmware version 2F04L0710613 KFGA B2FFA 40GB and try to put the platter from the damaged in the donnor, centering, and all process but begin to make again knock sound , then i check the head from the damaged the number was C9 and the donnor was C7 i have tried with 3 hard disk but have C4, C7 but not C9 , for this reason i want to know if there are a way to know the model of heads withoutopen the disk ?

I have replaced the platter in another hda the same model, code, letters, and all, and its the same circuit preamplifier but still knocking, do u know why??
