Alan,

This is a 2.5" SATA Hard Drive. The drive has an adapter connected (which connects to your motherboard in your laptop).

Remove the hard drive from the caddy and then remove this adapter and you will see that it is a regular SATA connector.

picture removed m8 so i cant see what are u talking about. However if its what i think it is - u just inscrew the hdd from a caddy if its screwed , and pull on the adaptor to disconect it.

Alan, looks like there are some screws along the side of the actual drive. Remove these and then pull the drive away from the metal caddy. Then remove the adapter.

If this doesn't work, post some pictures of the drive from the side/bottom

Heya Alan. Sry mate not the best angle for a pic =)) Anyway , its just like CK said =) Its safe to remove all the screws u see on that HDD with the exeption of TORX screws =) oh , and dont remove the screws on the green board. They hold PCB and have nothing to do with ur conector.
