I'm not in a hurry. Take your time. However, I want to have the least work as possible.

So I'm looking for a HD (desirable), one that I can swap PCB without the need of swapping ROM.

I'm prepared to swap ROM, but I would prefer not having the hassle to do so.

Finding a WD1200JB-****A0 would do the trick, some say. However that is not true, since I have also a WD1200JB-75CRA0 that is not compatible with the WD1200JB-00FUA0 (the fixing holes are placed on different positions, different IC chips, also)

So it appears to me that I need to find a WD1200JB-****A0 AND a matching 15 digit IDE white bar code label PCB. However this is not true, since there are PCB that have different CPU (WD0C22 ST1.3 or WD0C22 ST 2.0). I'm not sure if I can upgrade the CPU version, but one thing is true for me: one should match the Motor Controller Chip (L6282 3.2E).

On another post that I read, Erin Lee says that it would suffice to "match the PCB# etched along side the PCB (http://www.deadharddrive.com/forums/vie ... php?t=6140).

I have found some parts whose sellers claim that are compatible with my PCB, but the component layout is sligtly different (it misses K2 component). I much appreciate a photo of the actual PCB (IC's side).

I was really interested on a new HD instead of a PCB.

I like your proposal of $35+$5, though.

If you will be kind enough, open a new thread with the name "Mikeluz request" on the "for Sale" subforum and provide me some info about the PCB of yours. Also please add a high resolution image of the actual "chip side" of the PCB, since I have came across some eSellers that claim that theirs PCBs are the same as mine, but their components arrangel are different from mine.

It certainly won't take you much time than replying to me. But, if you are not interested on selling the item, don't contact me on the 1st place. I'm sorry for your lack of interest on understanding my concerns.

Don't gamble with other people.

One get suspicious about someone asking him/her money without publicizing the deal. It is normal to complete deals on eBay, or on "For Sale" forums. So why is someone asking money, but not interested on publicizing the deal?

I understand the "lack of time" excuse. But when someone is offering help, well...it's offering their time to help. So please, implement a Feedback forum, so users can feedback other users buy/sell. Each user should have a Feedback thread, so other users can track down their feedback. Just a proposal.

Actually I'm looking for hardware (HDD). I do prefer a compatible HDD rather than a PCB that I have no garantees of success.

But, if somebody here wants to shed some light on compatible PCB's...?
