WD10EAVS-32D7B1 unable to read data

I have WD10EAVS-32D7B1 able to read all of its modules & ROM, In initial structure test Mod 24 copy 0 & 2D copy 0 were bad so I replaced with copy 1 now structure test is ok all of its modules are ok but unable to read data did regenerate translator but same result.

Can someone help ?

Yes. WD Royal drives may passport just fine, but if a head is bad, translator is not loaded correctly, and access to LBAs is denied. Not a hard problem to overcome if you have the proper tools.

I have had some of these cases that could only be solved through Head Replacement, and others I could solve with hotswap, many I can recover without any donor. Some cases require a combination of both.

You now know the problem, you are more than halfway to the solution. Maybe fzabkar knows........

seems redundant does it not ? If i find a compatible donor to do a head swap ill get to my LBA with no need for hot swap. And a smiley at the end of criptic message does not give it much credo. Same with u specialist. Like a dolphin who talks in riddles. All "might be's" and rolling eyes... This gets so tiering lately... Its like walking through a swamp...Diging smart alec remarks and bullshit statements for a grain of truth.

For what its worth if i was not aimed as a joke , but as help - i apologies Spaz. I thought it was an Empty comment for post count. But i repeat my statement. IF i get healthy and compatible heads and put them into a patient drive, why would i need hot swaps ?

In some cases head replacment is successful, but some heads may not be aligned. One way in which a HotSwap can help in such situations can sometimes provide access to SA and in fact data.

I can see from your posts that while you are eager, you are not very experienced. Also, you seem quite confident that a head replacement procedure will work for you. Have you tried this before?

I apologise, let me just write here to you solutions to all problems I have worked hard for, and spent a lot of time on, for you and every other newbie here to leech off me.

you have already identified the failure is related to at least one head, you know of 2 potential solutions including Head Replacement and hotswap, even this is too much information to give out in my opinion, and you still are not thankful for it and want even more.

Rather than argue and criticise the people actually trying to help you, why not apply one of these solutions to your clients HDD and I wish you good luck.

Am glad I am not your customer and the WD is not mine...
