WD10EVAS-00D7B1 is there a solution to this?

February 3rd, 2010, 8:16

I have the above drive with what I understand is a common problem. I can read all SA modules, all read heads test good but I can not read any LBAs. I also have the following error, which I understand is common to this type of failure...head0 and head1 both show cylinder -1 with an identical error, all 169 other tracks test good. I was advised by one forum member that tis was a common error and simply rectified...just read the PC3K maual. I did but didn't see anything helpful. Any suggestions? Oh yes, regenerating the translator didn't work.

Translator is fine, just not loaded due to other errors, all mentioned in previous topics...

If you have genuine PC3K UDMA then you'll have access to the forum, the answers there.

But of course you'll need PC3K UDMA to apply the solution.
