Hi all,
The site offers a firmware update for seagate hard disk
http://files.hddguru.com/download/Firmw ... s/Seagate/(The one on the bottom - 8h_SD1A.zip )
How do I use it?
How to update the firmware of the wanted hard drive?
Thank you very much!

The drive has to be in full working order to apply the firmware.
It's a firmware UPDATE, not a repair.

I would advise you to avoid HDD Guru firmware downloads.
Instead, the most recent firmware updates are available from Seagate's web site:
http://forums.seagate.com/stx/board/mes ... ad.id=8968There are Windows versions and CD ISO (FreeDOS) versions.
If your drive is suffering from the BSY bug, let us know.

Why don't you contact Seagate support. They should be able to help you.

Just connect it to your PC and see what will happen.
If detected normally ( with real capacity ) then your drive is (approx.) working fine, if not detected or detected but with 0MB then you have to fix your drive first then update the firmware.
