need to do an update for my seagate hard drive with HP24 firmware to HP26, downloaded new firmware HP26 from
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/soft ... ct=3740339followed the HP instruction and reboot the computer with the boot CD created for the firmware update, it always an error prompted says "can not find the drive". have created serveral CDs to reboot the computer but with the same result.
anyone had experience with updating the firmware... please share some insight on where i did wrong...

Maybe the updater cannot see the SATA controller.
Try configuring your BIOS for IDE legacy or compatibility mode. This will make the SATA drive look like PATA.
