I have an identical donor Hitachi Travelstar 2.5 Model: HTS541060G9AT00 P/N:0A25433 MLC: DA1175
JUL-05 Made in Thailand, but the PCB board on the original says made in malaysia and the donor says china. I put the donor drive to sleep, hot swap the pcb and when I try to image it with the Deepspar I get a green box with an "A" in the middle. I think that the pcb board for the donor is not close enough and these donors are not easy to come by. Does it look like a head issue or pcb not clos enough on the donor...?

For these drives u need to swap NVRAM as well... provided that donor PCB ROM version matches the patient.

I meant you cannot hot-swap Hitachi.

And u cannot 'cold-swap' either

I told u the reason, there's nothing more that can be said about the matter.

I'm not a DR guy, but I should be able to identify the ROM and NVRAM if you upload clear, detailed photos of the PCBs. If the other side has any components, please photograph it as well.
BTW, just be sure, does the drive spin up with the original PCB?
