I REALLY need help. I have a hard drive that contains all our home movies of our children. This morning when I went to plug it in I got the burnt electronic smell from the back of the drive. From everything that I have read I am really hoping that a PCB swap will help me retrieve our data. Could someone please help me or point me in the right direction to where I can find the correct PCB for this drive?

Ebay is the cheap and fast option to find a replacement PCB. Average price on ebay is $49 per PCB. Only thing is there is no warranty and they are USED PCBs that came from dead hard drives around the world.
If you value your data, send it in for a free diagnostic to make sure the PCB is the only damage on your drive if you really need your family movies back. DIY can get your movies back, but there is more risk of killing them all or if not make it over $1,000 recovery work after more damages are done to the drive during the DIY Recovery Attempt.

If you REALLY need the data then seek pro advice, you will not find a PCB to suit your drive without ROM transfer.
