Hello friends

i have a WD2000JS-55MHB0 SE, dcm=DSBHYTJAH,date 20 DEC 2005
pcb=2060-701335-005 REV A, stiker 2061-701335-B00 AF,when power on clicks for couple of
seconds then spins down. power again the same results. copule of days ago the bios said WDC ROM MODEL-HAWK. today i noticed that pcb get warm. more specificly i noticed that on the right side of the pcb, close to chips E12, E95, E96 the board gets warm.
replacing the pcb with a good one (WD2000JS-55NCB1) gave same results. of course not detected and still clicks.

what is the reason for this warning up?
can the data be recoverd?

Yes, you must change heads.
There's a hand made tools and an expensive tools, you can choose from them depending on your skill, knowledge and experience.

Swapping Wd heads can rise some issues. If this is your first one, I would not encourage you much.

it's really not the 1st time. i did it hundreds of time with lot of frustration.

after confirmation from at least two specialists confirming that the problem is with heads i decided to look for the best tools exist.

i'll appreciate your proposal

You did it more than 100 times, you should know which tool to use.
Based on PCB swap you did, it's clear that you have no clue what you are doing.

You should first document yourself how WD disks work, it is not real that you have done hundreds of head swaps with no good results ! There's something wrong in your procedure OR you are missing something OR lack of know how OR the three situations above.

i admit that something is wrong with either my hands, brain etc.nobody is perfect, including me. i am not an angel. i believe i know my disadvantages better than anyone in the world. since i am not genious i visit this forum almost every day. at least i am trying. hardly.

any how i came to conclusion that the tools i used are not sufficient. especially for heads transfer and the only thing i asked is recomendation for this part of the job.

This is not personal. Just came across my mind.

I think that to understand how each hard drive works related to the physical data recovery is not available for sale or free share online since these information were developped via lots of R&D time and WD/Seagate/IBM/Fujitsu/Samsung/Toshiba/Hitachi/Maxtor/MDT Confidential Information.

I know some of the forum guys here will spoon feed you for $3,000 or so to get started and some are available to you as a mentor for $50/hour or so with a few hours minimum. Unfortunately I don't do that, but I heard a few people will do that! I'm sure someone will be happy to share trade secret with you if you have the right amount of $$$ on hand.

I'm sure if you are a tech in this field full time or run your own lab, you have your connections to get the info you need. I'm sure a lot of gurus here will help you via PM/Instant Messaging, e-mail even via telephone.

agree, you should think about why after lot of time still no work. get more experience by self. don't just do. should be do more and think more.

in addition on this forum at least one guy said it's either heads or preamp.

hello friends

i tranfered the heads to an identical drive. the drive still clicks and "HAWK".

in addition i noticed the MBO is getting warm (preety hot) close to the figure "1"

on the picture added.

can anybody help?
