seagate ata password recovery

friends
how can I get erase 250gb seagate sata disk which is locked by ata password?I dont want data but reuse it.
AFF costs$49 higher than brand new disk. Can somone suggest freeware tool or is there any terminal command which i can try.
I tried edderase but it is very immature software .
