WD5000AACS head problems

April 2nd, 2010, 3:34

Hi have a
WD5000AACS
WCAUF297633
SATA 16MB CACHE
DCM: HHRMHTJMBB

Head problem. Drive comes ready and stops spinning right after. You can hear a very faint clicking on this drive. It can be loaded in udma but once the utility starts it will not load the drive and gives errros.

This drive needs to have heads changed out on it. I am looking to out source this drive it is for one of the major pearl distributors here on the islands and all his photos for his work is in this drive. I know of the alignment issues on this drive and do not want to risk the chance to change out heads on it here.

If anyone is interested in doing this send me pm with details and pricing on this one. i will forward all to the client so that he can decide what he wants to do on this one. He is asking for details on this. I explained I do not change out the heads on this drive here it is a known issues with alignments and only a very small handful of professionals have mastered this one.

Anyone interested??

Thanks please send me PM.
