Toshiba are infamous for numerous faults, most common is motor problems. At this stage, correct diagnosis is important. If this is something you cannot do yourself, you need to seek a professional who can assist you.

If you diagnose incorrectly, or even diagnose correct but apply a solution wrong, you risk loosing any important data you have.

Many DR firms offer a free diagnostic so you have nothing to lose except the cost of postage if you ship. At this point, you will 100% know the failure, and can then make a decision about the data

a lot of times its the bad sectors at the begining of the drive what cause the restarts like that. I would sugest cloning the drive and geting ur data of the clone.

But Hddguy is correct. Proper diagnostics are needed.

The fact he's trying to reinstall OS ON SAME DISK says that data is of no importance... right ?

i didnt. One can resinstall the OS on top of the previous installation without reformat. Repair option also availible. I did see ppl use the same name after reinstalling like that and lose MyDoc folder though... Even though microsoft claims its not supposed to happen =)
