Special case "Cute ring" :-)

April 19th, 2010, 16:15

Hello gurus,

I have a WD scorpio drive with this " ring ", any chance to recover the data ?

The drive can't spin up, I thought it was a "common" head stick.

But I found this. :D

Difficult but not impossible. Assuming some data is lost for sure.

Thank you Mr.Janos for trying to help, but the case has been closed and the customer refused to recover his data because I told him : that will cost you more than a new drive : 1200 L.E = Approx 200 USD.And he shouted : I can buy 4 new drives with this amount. Then I said : OK, go ahead.
The FDB motor wasn't even try to spin up because of this "ring", and the heads couldn't move from it's parking area too.

I know Mr.BlackST it's a difficult issue, and I prepared myself to work on it. But the customer was F**kin idiot. :)
