April 23rd, 2010, 18:19

Dear All,

Please advice utility that can fix MFT record on HDD. I have tied test disk, but it fails, says that MFT and MFT backup are damaged.

I tried to reformat and recreate partition, but MFT still damaged.

So.... where do you want it to get the MFT from if the MFT and mirror is damaged?

Did you say you reformatted the drive? So you didn't want to get your data, you just wanted to get your hard drive working again so you could use it again?

IF no need for data (THIS IS DESTRUCTIVE FOR DATA ON DISK) use MHDD and ERASE (zerofill) the first 100'000 - 1'000'000 LBA. If doesn't work, the drive has bads beyond repair in the beginning and this is another story.
OR remove from partition manager on OS install disk ANY partition or connect to other PC and use systema maintenance to remove ALL partitions (all the disk space must be unallocated).

Hello,

I have used Western Difital Utitlitys to zero all sectors, but it did not help.

Now will try MHDD Erase. The problem is that all big files i copy to HDD are currutped. Small files work ok, HDD regenerator 1.71 gives no bad blocks as HDD scan result. Only test disk says MFT and MFT backup are damaged.
