Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I know it is possible to write scripts and use them and install them in pc3k UDMA. I have seen one on hotswapping for WD Marvell series that can be installed inside the UDMA. I know of fixes for Seagate and would like to understand how I can write a script to insert this into the program so that when I have a problem such as on the ES2, 7200.11 and .12 drive where I have all black marks at the end of the drive I can run the script to fix this one. There are other problems that would make it a lot easier and faster in fixing drives to have a small script installed into the program so when the problem comes in I can run this script to fix it. Any ideas on how this one can be possible. You can PM if you would like on this one. Thanks for all ideas on how I might be able to do this one.

I found this in the PC3000 Kermanl PDF manual and it states the following.
"For details on the script engine you are advised to refer to the special documentation file available in your individual update folder at Info_PC3000UDMA/CHM/PC3000PCIObjectMode.chm. Technical support forum also contains a section devoted to programming for PC-3000 and discussion on hte issue related to the use of the script engine.
I know this is possible and it is in the Kernal manual why doesn't anyone have this documentation. I have check my update box and it is not supplied. Does anyone know why they would put this in their book, allow scripting on the tool and then not give the necessary documentation to everyone who has an update box to download it from?
Any ideas on this one and does anyone have this documentation?
Thanks

Found mine too in my inbox. I took the time to translate all of this and was very long and took me over 180+ hours. There was a lot to figure out in this one and Google translater did not work so well on this. Lucky there was more than one way to see this one and then correct the errors in it so it could be used now
Good luck on all of you on this one. I am glad mine is finished and wish you all luck to finish yours. It is very time consuming and gets really fed up to do the same thing over and over again. In total there was 345 commands coding to translate and all of them had the description, syntax, parameter, and examples. There was a lot of Russian in all of this and I decided to translate it all for me. Have fun everyone and once it is done it is a great file to have and to use. Very useful file.

Why scripting and what we can do with it. The scripting interfaces with the PC3000 in Kernal mode. It is the entry point where you can plug in and execute any custom code. This can benefit all your work in saving time. You will no longer need to develope codes to access the HDD. The scripting allows you to program the HDD registers for writing/reading to/from HDD. You can use your special knowledge about HDD in certain software modes.

Hello poehere,
It looks very interesting,
When i read this i went to my update box and found it the Russian version, but do not have too much time to spend on translation.

Hi Poehere,
Having seen your other documents and work, I am sure this is a quality document worth having. I also don't have any time to translate and would be interested in a translated document. It's very unfortunately that Ace did not provide much info on this prior. I had looked into it a few years ago, but due to time restrains and limited information available it somewhere ended up on the ever growing to do list. Please PM me with the details and cost.

Strange when I got this file and contacted they told me they were not translating it that they gave it to us in Russian and we could translate it for our use. I head also for how long that the translations were being made on the WD Marvel manual also. Have not seen this one or new manual updates on any WD Marvel utility ever. Hope this one too is in the making by ACE and available soon. Would be nice on this one.

The English Marvell doc is out... it showed up in my update box, perhaps you should ask them about it.

Hello everybody,
Recently, our company receives requests about script system in PC-3000 for Windows UDMA product. That's why we decided to comment it for our customers to have better understanding of this issue.
Script system is mainly used by developers to test new methods with hard disk drives. Main script system purpose quickly inserts some algorithms into utility and tests them on a drive, before adding these algorithms to PC-3000 utilities.
To use Script system effectively, you have to know techno-commands, but usually almost all drive vendor techno-commands are not available for public access.
ACE Laboratory will make translation of this document. In the nearest future it will appear in user update boxes. Please keep an eye on our newsletters and website announcements.
Best regards,
ACE Laboratory Team.
