Is there anything on the drive that would identify the configuration of the head assembly. I have purchased 2 donor drives with matching Model #, Type, Part#, Firmware but the single head was on top of the platter unlike the original that was on the underside of the platter.
Model #: MJA2080BH
Part#: CA07083-B56000DL
Firmware: 00850019
Type: G2
ID: YTTN

Not usually, better to buy a 160Gb model then you are sure to get the head you want.
Often do this with older Fujitsu drives.

Are there any other considerations I would need to be concerned with? I found the following Model Model MJA2160BH, seems to be in the same family of drives just double the size so I am assuming it would be a single platter with 2 heads. There are no issues with PCB, firmware, etc with a different head stack?
